The Awards aim to recognise businesses operating in Laos that demonstrate responsible and sustainable practices, contributing positively to economic development, environmental stewardship, and inclusive growth.

The theme of the 2026 Awards focuses on two core pillars of responsible business.

  • Natural Resource Management

Within the framework of the 2026 Responsible Business Awards, Natural Resource Management refers to the ethical, sustainable, and inclusive management of natural resources such as land, water, minerals, ecosystems, flora, and fauna. Recognised initiatives may include efforts to minimise environmental impact, promote long-term environmental sustainability, respect customary and traditional land tenure of local communities including ethnic groups through free, prior, and informed consent, support inclusive economic growth, and adhere to international standards related to transparency, anti-corruption, and supply chain due diligence.

  • Diversity and Inclusion

For the 2026 Awards, Diversity and Inclusion refers to the promotion of equitable participation and representation of individuals from all backgrounds across business operations and leadership. This includes addressing systemic barriers related to race, gender, disability, sexual orientation, religion, ethnic background, or other identity factors, ensuring workplaces are free from discrimination and harassment, fostering inclusive workplace cultures, and implementing accountability mechanisms such as diversity reporting and equity strategies.
